Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Will Englund is the author of “March 1917: On the Brink of War and Revolution,” which explores events in Russia and the United States in the crucial weeks before American entry into World War I. A veteran Moscow correspondent, he covered Russia’s tumultuous 1990s for the Baltimore Sun and the 2012 return of Vladimir Putin to the presidency for the Washington Post. He has also reported from India, Afghanistan, Egypt during the Arab Spring, and the Balkans. In the United States, he covered the White House for National Journal and has worked as an editor on the foreign desk of the Post. In addition to a Pulitzer Prize, he has won an Overseas Press Club Award and a George Polk Award, among others. A graduate of Harvard College and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, he lives in Baltimore with his wife, the journalist Kathy Lally.
